The sacral chakra, also known as the svadhisthana chakra, is the second energy center in the human body.
Located approximately two inches below the navel, the sacral chakra is associated with creativity, passion, pleasure, and sexuality.
When our sacral is balanced, we feel confident, creative, and connected to our emotions. Our sensuality and connection to our innate creative nature at an all time high, performing an unspoken dance.
An out of balance sacral can lead to feelings of inward shame, guilt, or fear. An internal unassuredness in one’s way of being, which can lead to perpetual discord within oneself if not managed or tended to.
Ways to balance your sacral chakra include:
+ engaging in creative activities
+ spending time in nature
+ somatic movement
+ practicing yoga or meditation
+ enjoy a bath
+ engaging in pleasurable activities
+ expressing your emotions (in a productive manner)
+ setting boundaries
+ wearing orange or eating warm, orange hued foods
+ dancing!
+ chanting Vam
+ repeating affirmations, such as
“I feel at home in my body”
”I express freely”
”I am safe”
”I allow myself to experience joy and passion in my daily life”
Pick a few and try them out. Focus your attention on your sacral and your intention on forming a relationship with that part of you. Life tends to move so fast, it’s hard to feel we can find the time to nurture the parts of ourself that can easily become undetected. But, like the rest of the chakra system, it is an integral part of our well being and the way of our being.
