Have you ever felt a sort of chaotic energy within? A frantic, uneasy feeling? An inability to sit and just be? Present moment you’re in one place but your mind is elsewhere…
What about an uncertainty in your choices? A constant wondering if choice A was best or if you should have chosen B?
A disregulated nervous system is often a sign of an unbalanced root chakra. You could easily argue it is a sign of an unbalanced chakra system in its whole, but a balanced root sustains an equilibrium that the rest of the system requires. A lack of groundedness will permeate your whole existence – uncertainty in your truth, your vocalization, your Self. If you do not feel safe in simply being, how can you expect to feel safe in doing?
A balanced root brings homeostasis to oneself. There are a number of ways to bring you back to center, through grounding techniques, vibrations and sounds, or mindful practices that you can incorporate into your routine. The goal is to build a foundation for your root to thrive, not to grasp at these practices when you’re amid frenzy or within survival mode.
some practices include:
+ spending time in nature
+ grounding exercises, such as walking barefoot or the visualization practice of roots growing from your feet into the earth’s core
+ practicing yoga or meditation, chanting Lam (Lah-m)
+ listening to 396 Hz frequencies
+ consuming grounding nourishments, such as root vegetables or naturally red foods
+ engaging in physical activity
+ incorporating red tones in your appearance + apparel
+ repeating affirmations, such as
“I am safe in my body”
“I am whole”
“I am exactly where I am supposed to be”
“I am at peace with all my choices”
“I release and receive”
Choose one, choose several, or try all of these methods. Notice the differences between before and after you take part. Note which ones feel best to you. Incorporate what makes you feel best daily and observe your energy shift.
“It all starts with you” feels daunting and virtually impossible because we unconsciously zoom out and begin to stress about what we cannot control. By creating a sense of safety with Self, we create a safer world. If we all just zoom back in and take a moment of our day to encourage a deeper and more intentional relationship with Self, we are taking part of a collective revolution that is just waiting for our arrival.
